La casa dove Maria nasce è una costruzione in pietra, modesta e dignitosa; oggi si trova all’interno della recinzione del centro di spiritualità. Qui Maria abita fino al 1850, quando si trasferisce nella cascina Valponasca. La casa, oltre ad ospitare la famiglia della Santa, accoglie anche le numerose famiglie di due fratelli del padre. L’edificio, oggetto di un profondo restauro a partire dal 1996, si presenta su due livelli, con una piccola cucina al piano terra e con un pozzo interno.

The house where Maria was born is made of stone, modest and decent. Today, it is situated within the fence of the spiritual centre. Here, Maria lives up to 1850, when she moves to farmstead of Valponasca. The house, apart from being the home for the family of the Saint, serves also as the home for the large families of Maria‘s two uncles on her father‘s side. The building, which has undergone renovation since 1996, is presented consisting of two levels, with a small kitchen on the first floor and with an internal well.
