14. la casa dell'Immacolata | the house of Immaculate Conception

La casa dell’Immacolata, adiacente alla parrocchia, è fatta costruire da Don Pestarino con l’intenzione di cederla alle Figlie dell’Immacolata, perché vi possano abitare insieme. Nell'ottobre 1867 trasloca qui il piccolo mondo di Casa Maccagno e Casa Bodrato.

Le prime Figlie dell'Immacolata ospiti della nuova abitazione sono Maria (che si stacca definitivamente dalla famiglia), Petronilla Mazzarello, Giovanna Ferrettino, Teresa Pampuro.

In questa casa le Figlie dell'Immacolata rimangono fino al momento del passaggio al Collegio, nel maggio 1872. Con la sua fondazione si passa dall’esperienza del gruppo alla comunità religiosa.  Non più dunque il cerchio ristretto delle “amiche”, ma quello più vasto dei rapporti tra sorelle nello spirito di famiglia, una famiglia sempre in crescita. Lo spirito di “santa amicizia” assume nella nuova realtà le caratteristiche proprie della vita comunitaria che Maria instaura ponendosi accanto ad ogni persona come sorella e madre.

The house of Immaculate Conception, adjacent to the parish church, is built by Don Pestarino with the intention of giving it to the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception so that they could live together. In October 1867 here moves the small world of Maccagno House and Bodrato House.

The first Daughters of the Immaculate Conception are the guests of this new accommodation: Maria (who leaves for good her family), Petronilla Mazzarello, Giovanna Ferrettino, Teresa Pampuro.

In this house the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception stay until the moment of transferring to the Boarding School in May 1872. With its foundation it passes from the experience of the group to the religious community. No longer narrow circle of “friends”, but one of wider range of relationship among sisters in family spirit, an ever-growing family. The spirit of “holy friendship” assumes in new reality the characteristics of community life, which Maria establishes being next to each person as a sister and mother.
