15. il Collegio | Boarding school

Dopo la lunga malattia del tifo, secondo la tradizione, Maria ha una visione: si vede di fronte ad un gran caseggiato, con tutta l’apparenza esteriore di un collegio per giovinette, mentre una voce le suggerisce “A te le affido”.

Il collegio è costruito nell’arco di pochi anni e, nel 1872 vi si trasferisce Maria con le sue giovani.

Nel cortile si trova un porticato sul cui sfondo è presente un dipinto che ricorda l’incontro di Don Bosco con Madre Mazzarello ed è ancora presente un pozzo che è diventato con il tempo il simbolo della povertà iniziale.

After the long disease of typhus, according to tradition, Maria has a vision: she is found in front of a very large house, with the exterior appearance of a boarding school for youngsters, meanwhile a voice suggests to her “I entrust it to you”.

The boarding school is built within a few years and in 1872 Maria moves there with her youngsters.

In the courtyard there is a portico on the background of which is the painting which depicts the encounter of Don Bosco with Maria Mazzarello and there is still a well which in the course of time has become the symbol of initial poverty.
